Shiraz 2018, McLaren Vale SA

NOSE - Fruit of cherry before spice of pepper and a touch of anise amble in. A snuffle of smoke lures the olfactory.

PALATE - This medium bodied dry red is ruby in colour with good acid and supa dupa supple tannins. A river of cherry flows with floating pepper and meshed olive brine.  There is also some cultivated vanilla lurking in the background.

NOTES - This red reminds us of a family meal around the table and wine poured with generosity, honesty and ease. This vino is uncomplicated, there's no funny business. It’s good and easy to savour and if you are partial to spice, this guy will be your confidant in your quieter moments. Simply made, to be simply enjoyed - however it would be a mistake to take it for granted. There is a talented winemaker behind the scenes. Bottoms up!

Destined to go overseas as an example of a premium Australian Shiraz, the shipment was cancelled due to the growing trade disputes between China and Australia.. which is why we have come to have it. Retailing for $35 from its vineyard, this is a lovely Shiraz and at our price is really great value.
