NOSE - Citrus and stone fruit open things up - nectarine, melon, a burst of finger lime adding an unexpected brightness. Aromatic and inviting, with the quiet confidence of something that has spent twenty months underground doing exactly what it needed to do.

PALATE -  Melon and ripe nectarine lead with warmth and generosity, stone fruit filling the mid-palate with a richness that feels earned rather than forced. Gentle oak integration adds complexity without crowding, a fine line of acidity drawing everything out to a finish that is clean, dry, and considerably longer than expected. Complex, harmonious, and possessed of a mouthfeel that lingers well past the last sip.

NOTES - Twenty months in French oak - new and old - using natural yeast and minimal intervention, stored underground in the Baarmutha way until ready. The 2024 vintage gave this wine everything it needed: a warm, dry season, even ripening, natural acidity intact, fruit of outstanding quality. Only eighty dozen bottles exist, which tells you something about how seriously this is taken and how quickly it tends to disappear. Beechworth Chardonnay at this level is still one of Victoria's better kept secrets. Drink it now while it sings, or cellar until 2030 and take full credit for the patience. Either way, don't hang about.
