Guaranteed to impress.

Below are six wines guaranteed to impress. We love them all and think you will too.

A 6 bottle half case contains:

1. Pinot Noir 2019 (Yarra Valley) This drop gifts rounded and ripe cherry, with lifted strawberry and feminine musk. There's also a shameless wink of bramble that teases from some whole-bunch included in the ferment.

2. GSM 2021 (McLaren Vale) This dry medium bodied red is ruby in colour with bopping acid and smooth melting tannins. Savoury flavours of Thelma plum, wild berries and strawberry are atmospheric. Spice of pepper collaborate with mouthfeel giving pleasure.

3. Shiraz 2022 (McLaren Vale) This medium bodied dry red is inky/purple in colour with cheeky persistent tannins and lovely acid. Hints of blueberry bob up and down, while black pepper swims confidently with purpose on the tongue. Chocolate lingers once the others have packed up and gone.

4. Chardonnay 2019 (Yarra Valley) There is a coiled, brooding power here, with notes of melons, citrus, oatmeal, apricot, kernels, and nuts. It is tight, concentrated, and with a beguiling, creamy texture and delightful, supple palate. There is a fine line of acidity, driving the wine, which offers a lingering, finish, with power and intensity.

5. Riesling 2020 (Adelaide Hills) The colour of yellow straw, this dry, light to medium bodied white is a mesmerising mix of delicate honeysuckle, florals and chalky minerals, with lemony notes building across a wonderful length. The style is creamy, reminiscent of creme brulee however a minerally backbone provides an excellent balance, allowing the citrus notes to shine. Still very fresh and crisp, this wine will cellar extremely well over the next five to ten years.

6. Arneis 2012 (Yarra Valley) This light to medium bodied dry white is pale grass-lemon in colour. Lemon and lime push to the front to get a good seat with green apples vying for a spot. There's also a healthy palmful of nut adding texture and an inkling of beeswax to tie it all together.

A 12 bottle case contains 2 of each variety.

We are very impressed with the quality of these wines. I would love to know where the wines are from. I will be ordering more.

Hi Amanda.

I wish I was allowed to say where they all come from because it would raise so much more money for charity. Most vineyards have these small parcels left over from their vintage (harvest) where they ran out of labels. They sit in sheds all over the country but are in quantities far too small to be of interest to the big online wine companies. The vineyards won't go back to the printers for such tiny amounts of labels because of the ridiculous cost of small print runs.

These are the types of wines I am interested in. They exist in cellar doors and wine shops all over the country with their vineyard's own labels on them for more than we are selling them for. So, while we are solving a problem for the vineyards and they want to help charity, they don't want to hurt their own brand and their sales with a cheaper competitor for the same wines. It's very frustrating but I understand their position and I'm grateful for their support.

Thank you for your feedback and for supporting Greyhound Rescue with your purchase. I am guessing you might have a rescue noodle of your own :)

Cheers

David
