NOSE - Violets set the scene before dark plums, rum and raisin, dark chocolate and oak combine to lift the senses. It is a sophisticated and alluring promise of what is about to come.
PALATE - A beautifully harmonious palate sings of black and purple fruit richness, cedar, and cake spices. The soft mouthfeel is deceptive as the fruit richness continues to build, lingering on the palate and extending to a long and delectably appealing finish supported by soft, fine acids. Wonderfully composed and styled with excellent fruit power and complexity, this is a very sophisticated wine at weekday quaffing prices.
NOTES - This is a dangerously moreish wine. With its deceptively muscular frame and powdery tannin structure, it is set to continue developing in the bottle for at least another 5-7 years.
Retailing for $32 from its vineyard, this is a lovely Shiraz and at our price represents really great value.
