NOSE - Dark blackcurrant and plum lead with classic Cabernet authority, cedar and cigar box adding complexity, a whisper of olive and dried herb threading through. Developing beautifully with age.

PALATE - Blackcurrant and dark plum carry genuine depth and structure, cedar spice and earthy complexity building through the mid-palate. The tannins are firm and fine - softened by nearly two decades of bottle age but still very much present and providing real backbone. Long, considered, and thoroughly delightful right now.

NOTES - Named for the Cornelia Creek vineyard (Goulburn Valley), this is a big, structured Cabernet from the 2006 vintage with serious ageing credentials. Peter Beckingham had high hopes for this wine when he made it and those hopes have been well and truly realised. Museum stock at its most compelling - drinking beautifully now with the backbone to keep going for years yet. A rare opportunity to taste genuinely aged Australian Cabernet at a price that makes no sense at all.
