Safe Pets Safe Families understand the importance of the bond we all have with our animals, especially during tough times. While a bond with a pet can help endure a tough time, research also shows that victims of domestic violence are more likely to delay leaving an abusive relationship if they own a pet. Recognising the lack of pet-friendly refuge facilities for these victims, Safe Pets Safe Families was born. They work with registered foster carers and boarding services to ensure that pets stay safe, and at the same time, allow owners to get back on their feet before finally being reunited permanently with their beloved pets.
